Publication 2023 / Simulation-based manufacturing of bipolar plates

The manufacture of bipolar plates for sustainable hydrogen mobility poses a challenge for production technology due to the high demands on manufacturing precision combined with high production volumes. Forming simulations minimize iteration loops in tooling and process development. Ultimately, an efficient ramp-up phase can be achieved. This paper illustrates this approach—from establishing the material model and tool design to the stamping process—using a demonstrator.
