The division “Lightweight construction by sheet metal forming” focuses on the development and production of lightweight and hybrid components using innovative processes in the fields of sheet metal, bulk metal and sheet bulk metal forming. In this context, the complete process chain is taken into account – from semifinished parts and the modification of these to components with validated properties and quality features.

We have know-how for the processing of numerous light metals such as aluminum alloys, high-strength steels, titanium and magnesium. Further competences are the complete mechanical and geometrical characterization of materials and components, the numerical analysis and design of processes and tools, the manufacturing of parts by laser cutting and the production of prototypes and small series.
