In many cases the as cast properties of cast materials do not fulfill the requirements. The microstructure, and hence the strength and ductility of many alloys, can be modified to meet the requirements by subjecting the material to heat treatment.
As a basis for designing the industrial heat treatment an optimisation of the heat treatment can be studied on a laboratory scale at NMF. The influence of the most important process parameters can be evaluated by characterizing the material concerning microstructure and mechanical properties. In addition we support the industrial implementation.

Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH (NMF) is a national research center of the Bavarian State. We transform cutting-edge materials and manufacturing methods into industrial solutions.
