Fibre-reinforced composite
semi-finished products
Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH
A strong trend towards lightweight construction can be witnessed in many industries. Most notably, the demand for continuous fibre-reinforced thermoplastic-based semi-finished products is increasing, these products boasting great potential for use in large-scale production. Multi-stage processes such as film stacking and powder impregnation enable thermoplastic fibre-reinforced composite semi-finished products to be produced with short cycle times and in large batches.
How does our unique multi-layer film line work?
A plasticising unit for melting and directly applying the melted granules feeds a press unit with thermoplastic matrix via a hot runner mould. In parallel, films and other fibre-reinforced composite semi-finished products can be fed in and processed at the same time. A rolling mill located downstream enables inline calibration, lamination and functionalisation processes to take place independently of the impregnation process and without additional logistics. With regard to process evaluation and material combination, the multi-layer film line therefore offers unrivalled potential for the future.
A world first: Two technologies in one
