Investment casting process simulation
Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH
Modelling and computer-aided methods are used for investment casting at Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH for the following purposes:
- Designing gating and feeders
- Simulating the casting process and the solidification behaviour
- Establishing microstructure parameters and defect distributions (porosity, shrinkage cavities)
One of the characteristics of investment casting is that heat is emitted primarily by radiation. This is reflected in the computation.
